CITY OF MALOLOS — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Bulacan 1st District Engineering Office (DEO), in coordination with the local government units, launched a heightened motorist assistance efforts under the agency’s “Lakbay-Alalay” Program.

Motorists Assistance Centers were positioned at two strategic points within the district: (1) in front of the DPWH Bulacan 1st DEO along Manila North Road in Barangay Tikay, City of Malolos, and (2) along Daang Maharlika Road in Pulilan, which began 24-hour operations at 8 a.m. on Wednesday (April 16).

Prior to deployment, maintenance personnel conducted safety inspections along national highways to confirm the visibility and accuracy of directional and information signs, with special attention to kilometer post references.

Roadside crew also carried out pothole patching to restore damaged road sections and applied reflectorized pavement markings to improve visibility for nighttime drivers.

The initiative seeks to promote safe and orderly travel while providing immediate roadside assistance to motorists throughout the Holy Week period, which runs until April 19. (UnliNews Online)
