Ajinomoto Philippines and FAST Logistics unveil new EV Truck

GUIGUINTO, Bulacan — Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation (APC) celebrated the launching of its 40-foot Electric Vehicle (EV) truck with a dedicated EV charging station at its factory in Guiguinto Bulacan on Friday.

In partnership with FAST Logistics Corporation, a leading end-to-end supply chain provider in the Philippines, this initiative marks a decisive step in fulfilling APC’s sustainability commitment.

The event kicked off the EV truck’s operations and brought APC forward to its goal of modernizing and transitioning its fleet, leveraging sustainable supply chain solutions, reducing carbon emissions, and advocating environment-friendly transportation practices.

The EV truck will optimize delivery schedules, significantly lower fuel and maintenance costs, as well as help reduce carbon footprint. The EV truck also facilitates a truly green supply chain loop, with its EV charging station in the Bulacan factory, powered by 100% renewable energy.

According to Ernie Carlos, APC Chief Sustainability Officer, “We thank FAST Logistics for their partnership, which enables us to distribute our products with essentially zero emissions.”

“Together, we are glad to set a new benchmark for green transport in the food industry,” Carlos added.

Gladys Ceniza, FAST Vice President for Strategic Growth Initiatives, said: “FAST Logistics is proud to stand with Ajinomoto Philippines in this monumental step. This successful deployment of a heavy-duty EV proves the viability of large-scale electrification in commercial logistics. We are excited to support APC as they continue to lead the way in creating a more efficient and environmentally responsible supply chain for the nation.”

The deployment of this zero-emission transport vehicle directly contributes to APC’s 2030 Outcomes, which mandates a 50% reduction in its environmental impact and to help extend the healthy life expectancy of one billion people around the world. (UnliNews Online)
