CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — An armed suspect with a standing warrant of arrest for murder died following an armed encounter with responding police officers of the San Jose del Monte City Police Station (SJDM CPS) on Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 29) in Brgy. Muzon South.
Based on a report, at around 1:45 p.m, SJDM police received a call reporting a male person armed with a short firearm who was indiscriminately firing along said barangay.
Personnel from Sector 3, SJDM police immediately responded to verify the report. Upon arrival, the suspect, identified as “Ken,” fired upon the responding officers, prompting them to return fire, resulting in an armed confrontation.
The suspect was hit during the exchange of gunfire and was brought to the Ospital ng Lungsod ng San Jose del Monte, where he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Recovered from the scene were a Taurus cal. 9mm pistol and several spent shells, which were properly documented and turned over for further investigation.
One member of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) who responded and assisted the SJDM police sustained a minor injury on his right arm and was immediately given medical attention.
