DILG, Fernando tap barangays, SKs on strict implementation of ordinances in communities

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Bulacan and Provincial Government of Bulacan headed by Governor Daniel R. Fernando intensified the role of barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan officials in the implementation of environmental, peace, and order ordinances in the communities.

During the Salinlakas: Panlalawigang Talakayan sa Kalinisan, Kaligtasan at Kapayapaan forum held at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city on Friday, Fernando ordered all the 572 barangay captains of the province to strictly check the implementation of his executive order directing all schools to conduct earthquake drills every morning.

“Naniniwala po ako na ang susi sa tagumpay sa anumang laban ay ang kooperasyon at pagtutulungan nating lahat. Nawa, pagkatapos ng araw na ito, ay mas maging maayos at mabilis na ang koordinasyon at komunikasyon sa pagitan ng lokal na pamahalaan at ng mga katuwang nating ahensiya para epektibo tayong makatugon sa pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan,” the governor said.

The governor also reiterated his call for the intensification of peace and order, drug clearing, and environmental protection initiatives in the communities to achieve a clean, peaceful, and orderly Bulacan.

Meanwhile, DILG-Bulacan Provincial Director Myrvi Apostol-Fabia highlighted the role of barangays in the implementation of road clearing on all barangay roads from obstructions including illegally parked vehicles, ambulant vendors, construction materials, obstructing barangay outposts, and drying of palays and other crops among others.

She also mentioned that all barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan officials are required to conduct clean-up drive every Saturday, and to submit relevant geo-tagged report to their office.

The Salinlakas: Panlalawigang Talakayan sa Kalinisan, Kaligtasan at Kapayapaan aims to strengthen the ability of barangays to promote safe, disciplined, and clean communities as the first line of responders to problems in the communities. (UnliNews Online)
