CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan — Authorities destroyed the confiscated open pipe and improvised mufflers here in this camp on Thursday afternoon (Jan. 15).
A total of 1,654 pieces of illegal mufflers were destroyed, underscoring the strong commitment of law enforcement and local government units in enforcing traffic, environmental, and public safety laws against noise pollution.
The said ceremonial destruction of the modified mufflers was led by P/Col. Angel Garcillano, Bulacan provincial director together with Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando, Force Commander of PMFC’s and chiefs of police from various cities and municipalities of Bulacan.
In his short message, Gov. Fernando thanked the Bulacan Police under the leadership of Col. Angel Garcillano for the successful operation to eradicate and arrest those individuals who were responsible for parading open pipe and improvised mufflers last New Year celebration.
He also added that the province will continue to work with government agencies to ensure that a peaceful and safe environment is maintained throughout Bulacan.
On the other hand, Col. Garcillano said the seized exhaust pipes were the result of police operations in various parts of the province last month. He added that there will continue to be regular inspections and operations to prevent the use and sale of illegal exhaust pipes in the province.
Meanwhile, Col. Garcillano and Gov. Fernando awarded a certificate of commendation to the chiefs of police of the towns of Pandi, Plaridel, San Jose del Monte City, Sta. Maria and Norzagaray in recognition of their exemplary efforts in sustaining anti-noise and clean air initiatives. (UnliNews Online)
