CITY OF MALOLOS — A total of 562 solo parents from all over the province celebrated Valentine’s Day together as the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) headed by Governor Daniel R. Fernando, through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), treated them on a “date” filled with fun and laughter during their annual assembly held at Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city last Saturday.
Fernando expressed his deep admiration for the solo parents, whose unparalleled sacrifice and love prove that it doesn’t always take two to raise a paragon of the next generation.
Kayo ang unang guro, unang tagapagtanggol, at unang sandigan ng inyong pamilya,” the governor said.
The People’s Governor also assured the solo parents that the PGB continues to create programs that respond to the needs of every Bulakenyo family.
Moreover, the PSWDO discussed with the attendees their benefits and privileges under Republic Act No. 11861, or the “Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act,” including parental leave, flexible work arrangements, and other social protection programs.
Ensuring no one went home empty-handed, every attendee walked away with a family food pack courtesy of the Department of Social Welfare and Development and P500 from Fernando. (UnliNews Online)
