CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — After more than six years on the run, law enforcement has finally caught up with Edrian T. Rementilla (also known as Ryan Rementilla/Oliver Fuentes), a key accomplice in the high-profile murder of businessman Dominic Sytin in November 2018.
According to P/Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, PRO3 regional director, Rementilla, who had been evading authorities for years, was arrested on March 22, 2025, at around 10:30 p.m. in Purok 16, Buhanginan Hills, Pala-o, Iligan City.
The operation was carried out by joint operatives from the Regional Special Operations Units (RSOU) of Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) and Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10), in coordination with the Iligan City Police Office. His arrest was pursuant to warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 7, Manila, docketed under Criminal Case No. 2019-1076, with no bail recommended.
Rementilla had been constantly changing locations to avoid capture, but persistent intelligence efforts and coordination among law enforcement agencies finally led to his arrest.
Fajardo, lauded the successful operation, emphasizing that justice will always catch up with those who attempt to escape it.
“You can run, but you can never truly hide. This arrest prove that no matter how long it takes, justice will always prevail. Let this be a strong message to all criminals—there is no escape. The law will find you, no matter where you hide,” Fajardo declared.
Rementilla was transported to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) for the return of his warrant to the court of origin.
Authorities continue to reaffirm their commitment to tracking down fugitives and ensuring that justice is served. The arrest of Rementilla brings the case of Dominic Sytin’s murder closer to full resolution. (UnliNews Online)
