CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Five communist rebels surrendered to the government while 13 supporters severed their ties with the underground movement in Central Luzon during the Holy Week, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 3 (Central Luzon) said.
The Regional Police Office of Central Luzon said on Tuesday (April 22), these developments underscore the effectiveness of its sustained operations in close coordination with local government units, community stakeholders, and security partners under the RTF-ELCAC framework.

It also disclosed the surrender, confiscation and recovery of eight firearms and two explosive devices that significantly reduces the operational capabilities of insurgent elements and enhances public safety across the region.
Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, Police Regional Office 3 regional director, said “The peaceful surrender of CTG members and the withdrawal of support by their sympathizers are strong indicators that our localized peace engagement efforts are gaining ground.”
“We continue to foster dialogue and create avenues for reintegration for those misled by deceptive ideologies,” Fajardo added.
