Timely, quality Bataan road upgrade aligns with Marcos’ infra vision

BALANGA CITY — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the 0.739-kilometer asphalt overlay of the Barangay Luakan to Barangay Saguing section of Jose Abad Santos Avenue (JASA), enhancing the key road network in Dinalupihan, Bataan.

DPWH Bataan 3rd District Engineer Maribel Navarro said the P47.13-million project involved a four-lane, 12.60-meter-wide road upgraded with an 80-millimeter-thick asphalt overlay.

Implemented through the agency’s Asset Preservation and Preventive Maintenance Program, the project was completed on schedule under the 2025 national budget.

“This overlay work will improve the road’s durability, providing a more reliable route to the public. It demonstrates our commitment to upgrading infrastructure that directly benefits our constituents while minimizing disruption to their daily routines and operations,” Navarro said.

She added that the DPWH coordinated with the municipal government of Dinalupihan to implement alternative routes and comprehensive traffic management measures during the construction period to ease traffic flow and ensure public safety.

Navarro emphasized that the newly completed overlay provides a smoother, safer driving surface that significantly reduces travel time for motorists.

In his 4th State of the Nation Address, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. underscored the importance of completing infrastructure projects on time and to a high standard.

“Sa Build Better More, higit ang kapakanan at kaligtasan ng mamamayan ang napakamahalaga. At ang mga proyekto, tama dapat ang disenyo. Mataas dapat ang kalidad. Natatapos sa takdang oras. At naaalagaan at namementina nang mabuti,” the President said.

The improvement of this JASA section in Bataan forms part of the administration’s broader push for connectivity and infrastructure development that supports economic growth and local mobility. (UnliNews Online)
