PRO3’s campaign vs loose firearms nets 9 arrests, 13 firearms seized

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — The intensified campaign of Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) against loose firearms has led to the arrest of 9 individuals and the confiscation of 13 firearms and ammunition from September 19–26, 2025, through the successful implementation of search warrants across Central Luzon.

Based on official data, PRO3 applied for 9 search warrants during the period which were all approved and successfully implemented, resulting in the seizure of 13 assorted firearms (pistols, revolvers, and shotguns) and ammunition (for cal.40 and 12-gauge shotgun).

PRO3 Director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr. lauded the accomplishments of operating units and underscored the importance of this campaign in promoting public safety.

“The seizure of these firearms and the arrest of their possessors show our unwavering resolve to rid Central Luzon of instruments of violence. This campaign is not just about taking hold of these weapons—it is about protecting lives, upholding the rule of law, and fostering peace in our communities,” Peñones Jr. said.

He further stressed that PRO3’s campaign is consistent with the directives of Acting Chief PNP, Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., to intensify law enforcement operations that guarantee the safety and security of the public.

The public is reminded that possession of unlicensed firearms is a punishable offense under existing laws. Authorities continue to encourage firearm holders to renew their licenses to avoid legal consequences. (UnliNews Online)
