CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija — A notorious drug den operator included in the Regional-target-list of drug personalities was arrested by anti-narcotic operatives of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) following a buy-bust operation at around 3:15 p.m. in Barangay Rizdelis on Monday (Oct. 6).
The successful drug entrapment operation also resulted in the arrest of two other accomplices and confiscation of some Php 102,000.00 worth of meth (shabu).
PDEA team leader identified the arrested drug den maintainer as alias Jojo, male, 57 years old. Other apprehended suspects were alias Emil, male, 55 years old; and alias Chari, female, 26 years old.
Operating teams recovered five pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing roughly 15 grams of shabu valued at P102,000.00, assorted drug paraphernalia, one unit of cellular phone and the buy-bust money used by the poseur buyer.
Arrested suspects will be temporarily detained at the PDEA-3 jail facility in City of San Fernando, Pampanga. While confiscated drugs will undergo forensic examination at the PDEA-3 laboratory.
The joint operations involved operatives from PDEA Provincial Offices in Bataan and Nueva Ecija, and Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO) – Drug Enforcement Unit.
Alias Jojo will face charges under Republic Act 9165, including section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs), and section 6 (maintenance of den), a non-bailable offenses. EMIL and CHARI will be charged with violations of section 7 (visitors of den), section 11 (possession), and section 12 (possession of drug paraphernalia). (UnliNews Online)
