Swift police action leads to arrest of robbery suspects, recovery of firearms and evidence in Calumpit

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) announced the swift arrest of suspects involved in a robbery hold-up incident at a gasoline station in Calumpit, Bulacan, underscoring the effectiveness of intelligence-driven policing and rapid response operations.

The robbery incident occurred in the early Thursday morning (Dec. 18) at a fuel station in Barangay Pungo, Calumpit, Bulacan, and was immediately reported to police authorities. Responding units promptly conducted case conferencing, CCTV review, and technical backtracking, which led to the identification and location of the suspects within hours of the crime

A coordinated follow-up operation by municipal police units and provincial intelligence operatives later the same day resulted in the arrest of six suspects identified as members of the “Marvin Acosta Robbery Hold-up Group,” a group believed to be involved in a series of similar robbery incidents in the province and nearby areas.

During the operation, authorities recovered various pieces of evidence, including a caliber .45 firearm with ammunition, suspected illegal drugs, mobile phones, cash believed to be proceeds of the robbery, motorcycles used in the crime, and other items linked to the incident.

All recovered evidence was placed under proper custody and subjected to forensic and ballistic examination.

In a statement, Regional Director P/Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr. said the swift arrest of the suspects highlights the command’s commitment to the PNP Focused Agenda of Acting Chief PNP, P/Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C Nartatez Jr , particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations and intelligence-led law enforcement.

“This quick arrest reflects the readiness and coordination of our police units. It sends a clear message that crimes against our communities will be addressed swiftly and decisively,” Peñones Jr said.

Criminal complaints for robbery hold-up and other applicable violations are now being prepared for filing before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor, while further investigation is ongoing to determine the suspects’ possible involvement in other criminal incidents.

PRO3 reiterated its call for public cooperation, emphasizing that prompt reporting of crimes and suspicious activities plays a vital role in the immediate resolution of cases and the maintenance of peace and order. ( Unlinews Online)
