BALANGA CITY — The provincial government of Bataan (PGB) strengthened its drive to attract investments in the semiconductor and electronics industries by convening the 1Bataan Semiconductor and Electronics Summit, reinforcing the province’s commitment to high-value manufacturing and inclusive economic growth.
The summit gathered national and local government leaders, industry locators, investors, and representatives from the business and academic sectors to promote investment opportunities, highlight policy support, and streamline investment facilitation efforts in the province.
A highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between the PGB and the Department of Trade and Industry – Board of Investments, represented by Managing Head and Undersecretary Ceferino Rodolfo.
The partnership underscored stronger coordination between the province and the national government in supporting investors.
Under the agreement, both parties committed to collaborate on investment promotion, facilitation, and investor servicing, which is expected to make processes more efficient and responsive to the needs of semiconductor and electronics firms locating in Bataan.
Bataan 3rd District Representative Maria Angela Garcia said the summit aimed to improve the ease of doing business in Bataan, enhance aftercare services for existing locators, and position the province as a competitive destination for electronics and semiconductor manufacturing.
For his part, Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III highlighted Bataan’s strengths in gross domestic product performance, literacy rate, skilled manpower, and other key indicators that make the province an attractive investment location for high-value industries.
This initiative aligns with the province’s long-term vision of achieving quality growth through diversified economic investments and efficient governance, ultimately creating stable and empowered families by expanding economic opportunities and promoting sustainable development.
