P2.04-M worth of shabu seized as PRO3 arrests HVI, 2 others in Nueva Ecija

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) recorded another accomplishment in its ongoing anti-illegal drug campaign following the arrest of a high-value individual (HVI) and two other suspects during a joint buy-bust operation in Talavera, Nueva Ecija late Tuesday night (Jan. 20).

The operation was conducted at around 10:50 PM on Tuesday in Barangay Calipahan, Talavera, Nueva Ecija, by joint elements of the Talavera Municipal Police Station’s Station Drug Enforcement Team, together with units from the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office.

During the operation, authorities recovered several sachets of suspected shabu with a total estimated value of ₱2,040,000.00. The suspects were informed of the nature of their arrest and their constitutional rights before being brought to the Talavera Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and disposition. Inventory and marking of the seized items were conducted in accordance with existing laws.

In a statement, P/Brig. Gen.Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr., Regional Director of PRO3, said the successful operation reflects the Region’s sustained and intelligence-driven campaign against illegal drugs.

“These results reaffirm our commitment to protect our communities and to relentlessly pursue those involved in illegal drug activities through lawful and coordinated operations,” PBGEN Peñones Jr said.

The operation supports the PNP Focused Agenda of Acting Chief PNP, P/Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C Nartatez Jr., and reinforces PRO3’s 3Ps—Protect the People, Pursue Peace and Order, and Promote Professionalism—as the Region continues to intensify its efforts against illegal drugs. (UnliNews Online)
