CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija — Agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Nueva Ecija Provincial Office dismantled a makeshift drug den and arrested three suspects, seizing some P88,400 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation on Tuesday (Feb. 24) afternoon in Barangay Valle Cruz in this city.
The PDEA team leader identified the operation’s main target as a 42-year-old male known as alias Popoy. The two other arrested individuals go by the aliases Mak-Mak, 23-year-old male and Bino, 38-year-old male.
Seized from the suspects were approximately 13 grams of suspected shabu (worth ₱88,400), assorted drug paraphernalia, and the buy-bust money used in the sting operation.
The suspects will be temporarily detained at the PDEA detention facility in San Fernando City, Pampanga. Meanwhile, the confiscated illegal drugs will undergo forensic examination at the PDEA Region 3 laboratory.
The operation was also conducted in coordination with the Cabanatuan City Police Office – Drug Enforcement Unit.
Popoy will face non-bailable charges under Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 6 (Maintenance of a Den, Dive, or Resort) of Republic Act 9165. Appropriate charges under the same law will be filed against the two other suspects. (UnliNews Online)
