CIAC markets Clark as rising MRO hub at Singapore Airshow 2026

CLARK FREEPORT ZONE, Pampanga (PIA) — The Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) promoted Clark Aviation Capital as an emerging maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and aerospace investment hub during the Singapore Airshow 2026 held at the Changi Exhibition Centre.

The airshow, one of Asia’s largest aerospace and defense exhibitions, gathered global industry leaders, government officials, and aviation firms to showcase industry innovations and explore partnerships.

CIAC joined the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), Department of Transportation, and private partners Luzon International Premiere Airport Development Corporation, and Berthaphil Inc. at the Philippine Pavilion to present Clark’s investment potential.

CIAC President and Chief Executive Officer Jojit Alcazar said discussions with global aviation firms generated strong interest in helicopter maintenance, component repair, and specialized MRO services — segments expected to expand as aircraft fleets across Asia continue to grow.

“CIAC’s participation strengthened our investment ties and highlighted Clark’s readiness to support the growing demands of the global aerospace industry,” he said.

The CIAC chief cited the 2024 Philippine Aerospace Industry Roadmap, which projects the local aerospace sector to be among the fastest-growing in the region, driven by rising air travel demand and fleet expansion.

Clark is positioning itself to capture a larger share of the regional MRO market as global aircraft operators seek cost-efficient, strategically located maintenance hubs that meet strict safety and efficiency standards.

Currently operating in Clark are global MRO firms SIA Engineering Company and Metrojet Engineering, reinforcing investor confidence in the aviation complex.

Alcazar said benchmarking at the airshow also provided insights on advanced technologies, safety systems, and workforce development strategies that will enhance Clark’s competitiveness.

As the aviation development arm of the BCDA, CIAC is mandated to transform Clark Aviation Capital into a full-fledged aerotropolis which integrates industrial, logistics, warehousing, and aerospace enterprises within a globally competitive aviation ecosystem.

The investment push aligns with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s economic agenda to attract foreign direct investments, strengthen trade linkages, and position the Philippines as a key aerospace player in Asia-Pacific. (Marie Joy S. Carbungco)
