CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — Demonstrating its sustained commitment to public safety, the Bulacan Provincial Police Office (BPPO) recorded a decline in crime incidents across all municipalities and cities in the province, with 190 cases logged from January to February 2026—lower than the 204 cases reported during the same period in 2025.
Said statistics were presented during the 2026 First Quarter Joint Meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council, Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council, and Provincial Task Force To End Local Communist Armed Conflict on Wednesday (March 18) at The Pavilion Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city.
The data showed that theft remains the primary contributor on the list with 80 registered cases, the highest among the “8 Focus Crime” discussed by the BPPO, followed by robbery with 32 cases, and motorcycle carnapping with 25 cases. Although these figures are lower compared to last year, BPPO Provincial Director PCOL Angel L. Garcillano still urged the local government units to cooperate with the police in maintaining the peace and order in the entire province.
“Kailangan din po namin ng support from the LGU, particularly in the cases of theft and robbery. ‘Yung data po na pinresenta natin, ‘yun pong theft cases [karamihan ay] nanggagaling sa shoplifting sa mga local mall, sa mga convenience store, [at iba pa],” he said.

Garcillano further explained that despite the recorded cases, the BPPO’s efforts remain relentless as their crime solution efficiency increased to 94% this year from 92% in 2025.
“Ibig sabihin po, sa sampu na nagnakaw, nangholdap, o snatch—siyam po doon ay arestado. So hindi po tumitigil ang ating PNP sa paghuli sa mga ito. But of course, it is much better kung tayo ay on the same level, mag-implement ng preventive measures to prevent these cases from happening,” he added.
Governor Daniel R. Fernando, who also serves as the chairperson of the council, praised the Bulacan Police for their swift actions in solving crimes and protecting the welfare of Bulakenyos.
“Binabati natin ang BPPO sa kanilang mabilis na resolusyon ng mga kaso at patuloy na pagpapalakas ng kampanya laban sa kriminalidad na nagpapaigting sa kaligtasan ng lahat ng Bulakenyo sa ating lalawigan,” Fernando said.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Provincial Agriculture Office, Department of the Interior and Local Government Bulacan, 70th Infantry Battalion of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bulacan Fire Marshal, National Food Authority, and the Department of Trade and Industry Bulacan Provincial Office also attended the joint meeting and discussed their accomplishments for the first quarter and plans for the succeeding months of 2026.
