MARILAO, Bulacan — The Philippine National Police (PNP), through coordinated law enforcement operations led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), successfully arrested a National Most Wanted Person early Sunday morning (April 29) in Marilao, Bulacan.
The suspect, a 23-year-old Filipino male, was apprehended at around 4:15 a.m. in Sitio Dulo-Kanan, Barangay Abangan Sur, by virtue of multiple Warrants of Arrest for Illegal Discharge of Firearm, Frustrated Murder, and two counts of Murder.
No bail was recommended for the murder charges, while other cases carried corresponding bail amounts. A P145,000.00 reward under the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) had earlier been offered for his arrest.
The operation was jointly carried out by CIDG Bulacan Provincial Field Unit, Regional Intelligence Units, SAF elements, and supporting units from PRO3 and the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, reflecting strong inter-unit coordination under the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly its Enhanced Managing Police Operations pillar.
Records show that the arrested individual is linked to a series of violent incidents in 2023 in Surigao del Norte, including a shooting incident and an illegal discharge of firearm case. He is also facing murder charges connected to a separate 2024 case currently under investigation.
PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the successful operation, underscoring the importance of sustained efforts against fugitives.
“Hindi po tayo titigil hangga’t ang mga tinutugis na wanted persons ay hindi nahaharap sa batas. This accomplishment reflects the dedication of our personnel and the effectiveness of coordinated police operations,” PGen Nartatez said. “We remain firm, focused, and committed to our mandate.” (UnliNews Online)
