PhilHealth Region III reinforces healthcare access in Bulacan with expanded benefit packages

CITY OF MALOLOS — Redefining the reach of universal healthcare, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) Region III is actively transforming the medical landscape in Bulacan through the rollout of enhanced health programs and high-impact services with the theme “Ka-YAKAP ang Pilipino sa Kalusugang Segurado,”.

As part of the celebration of PhilHealth’s 31st Anniversary and National Health Insurance Month last February, the agency is delivering on its promise to provide broader benefits and more affordable healthcare, ensuring that every Filipino is embraced by a reliable safety net.

A cornerstone of this mission is the PhilHealth YAKAP (Yaman ng Kalusugan), an evolved primary care package that builds upon the former PhilHealth Konsulta where an expanded benefit now offers a more comprehensive suite of laboratory tests and essential medicines for members and their dependents, prioritizing preventive care. Complementing this is the Outpatient Emergency Care Benefit, designed to provide immediate relief by covering urgent medical services, including emergency room treatments and ambulance fees for cases that do not require overnight hospitalization.

The life-changing impact of these initiatives was recently felt during a high-profile PhilHealth YAKAP Caravan at Minuyan Elementary School in the City of San Jose del Monte led by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. and Department of Education Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara, wherein the mission successfully brought critical medical interventions directly to the doorsteps of the community.

This targeted outreach provided 161 specific beneficiaries—including students, teachers, and parents—with vital access to free medical consultations, specialized laboratory tests, cancer screenings, and life-saving medicines.

To further bridge the gap between the agency and the public, PhilHealth’s Santa Maria branch conducted on-site membership registration and record updating, ensuring that these 161 individuals and their neighbors remain fully covered and informed about the evolving suite of PhilHealth programs.
