CITY OF MALOLOS — The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), through the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Baliwag, distributed 508 native and fruit-bearing planting materials to residents and barangay local government units in San Rafael and Angat, Bulacan through its “Seedling on Wheels” initiative.
CENRO Baliwag Head Dennis Vergara reported on Thursday (July 9) that the planting materials included guyabano, coffee, narra, banaba, cashew, jackfruit, and molave.

DENR Regional Executive Director Ralph Pablo, on the other hand said the initiative empowers communities to become active partners in protecting the environment through tree growing and biodiversity conservation.
“Each seedling we deliver is a chance to improve our surroundings and fortify our shared dedication to environmental preservation. We are encouraging every Filipino to contribute to the creation of a healthier, greener, and more climate-resilient future by bringing seedlings closer to our communities through Seedling on Wheels,” Pablo said.
Seedling on Wheels is one of DENR’s community outreach initiatives that brings quality planting materials directly to communities, making it easier for more Filipinos to participate in greening efforts.
By expanding access to free planting materials, the program supports urban greening, forest restoration, biodiversity conservation, and climate resilience while strengthening public participation in environmental protection. (UnliNews Online)
