SAN ANTONIO, Nueva Ecija (PIA) — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office III has extended cash assistance to 185 qualified beneficiaries in San Antonio, Nueva Ecija, as part of the government’s continuing efforts to provide financial support to vulnerable households.
The Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) assistance was distributed during the Tranche 2, Group 2 payout held at the Dr. Jose Lapuz Salonga Gym in Barangay Poblacion, in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure that government programs and services reach qualified Filipinos, particularly those who need them most.
Under the UPLIFT Assistance program, Group 2 includes households not enrolled in the 4Ps, but classified as poor and near-poor based on the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System of the Philippine Statistics Authority.
Under the initiative, each qualified beneficiary will receive P2,000 monthly until December 2026.
The DSWD said the payout in San Antonio forms part of the agency’s continuing distribution of assistance across Central Luzon, with succeeding activities scheduled until December 2026.
The UPLIFT Assistance program also covers households under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and Walang Gutom Program, as well as low-income workers and their families identified by the Social Security System.
Through the program, the government seeks to help eligible households address essential needs and ease financial pressures as it continues to deliver social protection services to communities. (By Camille N. Gavino)
