CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — The Bulacan Police Provincial Office (Bulacan PPO) accounted for 425 firearms surrendered or deposited by their holders from October 1 to 15, 2026, as part of its intensified campaign against loose firearms under the Accounting and Disposition of Firearms with Expired Registration (ADFER) initiative.
The campaign was carried out under the leadership of P/Col. Jay B. Baybayan, acting provincial director of the Bulacan PPO, as authorities stepped up efforts to account for firearms with expired registrations and encourage their holders to comply with existing firearms regulations.
The initiative forms part of the police’s continuing efforts to monitor and account for loose firearms in the province and promote public safety.
The Bulacan PPO continues to urge firearm holders to comply with registration requirements and coordinate with authorities regarding the proper disposition of firearms with expired registrations.
The campaign supports the directives of P/Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez, Regional Director, Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), and reinforces the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) Safer Cities Initiative.
During the period, Bulacan PPO recorded 405 firearms deposited for safekeeping and 20 voluntarily surrendered. Police also conducted 20 operations, resulting in the confiscation of 20 firearms and the arrest of 20 individuals.
These efforts form part of the continuing drive to account for loose firearms, promote compliance with existing firearms laws and regulations, and prevent the potential misuse of unaccounted weapons.
Col. Baybayan emphasized the importance of sustained police operations and public cooperation in preventing the loss, illegal transfer, and misuse of firearms. Through the ADFER campaign and its support for the DILG’s Safer Cities Initiative, Bulacan PPO continues to strengthen crime prevention efforts and promote safer communities through responsible firearm ownership and effective law enforcement.
