CLARFIELDPampanga — Approximately 3,468 grams of cocaine worth P18,380,400 were seized from a 48-year-old man from Suriname, South America after landing at Clark Airport on Tuesday night (May 23).
PDEA Clark Chief identified the arrested suspect as Reynaldo Wilfred Olivieira, 48 years old, Suriname national.
Olivieira arrived at Clark on board the United Arab Emirates Flight EK 338 around 6:31 pm. He was arrested at 7:44 pm after attempting to smuggle the illegal substances.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) authorities said that the confiscated illegal drugs were inside Olivieira’s luggage and were concealed inside his jackets
Around 30 vacuum-sealed transparent packs wrapped in mesh cloth and blue carbon paper containing cocaine were recovered from Olivieira’s possession.
The successful interdiction operation was jointly conducted by operatives led by the PDEA Clark Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Unit, PDEA Region III, PDEA Region 7, PDEA ICFAS, Bureau of Customs Port of Clark, Bureau of Immigration, NBI Pampanga District Office and PNP Aviation Security Unit 3.
A charge for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the apprehended suspect. (UnliNews Online)
