CITY OF MALOLOS — Honoring Bulacan’s crucial role during the Philippine Revolution, the Provincial Government of Bulacan joins the nationwide celebration of the National Flag Day during the flag-raising ceremony held at the Bulacan Capitol Grounds on Thursday (May 28).
Following the theme “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan”, the flag-raising ceremony was led by Governor Daniel R. Fernando, Vice Governor Alexis C. Castro and the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, along with Provincial Administrator Antonia V. Constantino, and PGB Department Heads and employees.
In his address, Fernando emphasized that the celebration is not just a simple tribute to the country’s national symbol, but a profound reminder of the innate bravery that has been a part of the Bulakenyos’ identity since the nation’s struggle for independence began.
The National Flag Day is observed annually to commemorate the first hoisting of the Philippine flag in 1898 after the Filipino revolutionary victory at the Battle of Alapan in Imus, Cavite. (UnliNews Online)
