SM Bulacan malls celebrate Philippine Independence with culture, creativity, and Filipino pride

CITY OF MALOLOS — SM malls in Marilao, Pulilan, and Baliwag stood in solidarity with the nation in commemorating the 128th anniversary of Philippine Independence with meaningful ceremonies, proudly Filipino performances and a celebration of local artistry highlighted by the Slay It Pinoy Bulacan Designers Fashion Show.

To ignite the celebration, SM Bulacan malls hosted flag-raising ceremonies held in partnership with the Provincial Government of Bulacan; the local government units of Marilao, Pulilan, and Baliwag; together with the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Boy Scouts (BSP), and Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP). The gatherings served as a tribute to patriotism, unity, and national pride.

Special performances by local artists, on the other hand, brought the celebration to life. At SM City Marilao, World of Dance Philippines finalist Verdant Family wowed the crowd with a dynamic dance choreography set to the rhythm of Original Pilipino Music (OPM), infused with contemporary flair.

Meanwhile, SM Center Pulilan marked Independence Day with a cultural presentation by the Hiraya Indak Pulilan and musical renditions by Cantus Novum Fidei.

Additionally, Tanghalang Panday Sining delivered a compelling interpretative dance performance at SM City Baliwag, showcasing powerful storytelling through expressive movement.

Serving as one of the celebration’s highlights, the Slay It Pinoy Bulacan Designers Fashion Show showcased the creativity of local fashion designers through contemporary interpretations of Filipino attire.

At SM City Marilao, at least 50 creations by Marilenyo designers RC Garcia and Marshee Navarro took center stage, while 35 locally crafted collections by Ancient Designers Hub, Angel Celestre, Yue Santiago, Vince Sityar, and Joven Lim captivated audiences at SM City Baliwag.

Beyond the meaningful events, SM City Marilao, SM Center Pulilan, and SM City Baliwag brought Super Pinoy Vibes installations that offered a fun and engaging tribute to Filipino identity.

The malls also advocate patronage for local businesses through the Sari-Sari Bazaar, showcasing a wide array of products from homegrown brands in the province. (UnliNews Online)
