CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — The Provincial Government of Pampanga has distributed about P86 million worth of barangay subsidies to 430 barangays under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Bawat Bayan Makikinabang Program.
The funds, distributed by Governor Lilia Pineda, Vice Governor Dennis Pineda, and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, aim to expand access to educational assistance and funding for grassroots development projects across the province.
The latest distribution marks the second batch of beneficiaries under the program, following the distribution of assistance to 58 barangays in Sta. Rita, Sta. Ana, Apalit, Minalin, and Sto. Tomas on June 22.
Each barangay received P200,000 in financial assistance, with P100,000 allocated for scholarship grants benefiting five college students who will each receive P20,000. The remaining P100,000 will be allocated for barangay-identified development projects aimed at improving local programs and services.
During the launch of the Bawat Bayan Makikinabang Program at the Clark Picnic Grounds in Clark Freeport Zone on May 14, President Marcos Jr. explained that the initiative provides direct support to barangays to help address local needs and strengthen community development efforts.
“That’s why sabi namin, bigay na natin sa mga barangay leaders, bahala na sila kung saan nila gagamitin yung pondo, yung natirang P100,000. Nasa sa inyo ‘yun…Dahil alam ninyo ang pangangailangan sa mga lugar ninyo, sa mga barangay ninyo,” the President said.
President Marcos also underscored the programs’ scholarship component, which provides financial assistance to five college students in every barangay to help them pursue and complete their education.
The Bawat Bayan Makikinabang Program, funded through the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF), forms part of the government’s efforts to expand access to educational assistance and community development initiatives, further advancing the Marcos administration’s commitment to bringing government assistance directly to local communities and ensuring that development benefits reach the grassroots level.
