DTI Bulacan holds ‘Kapihan’ with media partners

MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Bulacan Provincial Office held a Kapehan with Media Partners on Monday (August 17) at Malolos Resort Club Royale, bringing together members of the local media to discuss the office’s programs, initiatives, and recent accomplishments.

The press conference provided an avenue for DTI Bulacan to update its media partners on the office’s first-semester accomplishments for 2026, highlighting its continuing efforts to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and promote consumer welfare in the province.

Among the accomplishments presented were the conduct of capacity-building seminars for MSMEs and consumers, trade fairs and promotional activities, consumer advocacy and protection initiatives, and various business development programs aimed at strengthening local enterprises and creating opportunities for entrepreneurs.

The office also discussed measures being considered to assist MSMEs affected by the continuous rainfall and flooding in various areas of the province. These include coordinating with relevant stakeholders and exploring appropriate interventions to help affected businesses recover and sustain their operations.

In view of the prevailing weather conditions, DTI Bulacan likewise reported on its intensified monitoring of the prices and supply of Basic Necessities and Prime Commodities (BNPCs).

The initiative aims to ensure the continued availability of essential goods and protect consumers from unreasonable price increases, particularly in areas affected by flooding and other adverse weather conditions.

DTI Bulacan emphasized the important role of the media in keeping the public informed about government programs, consumer advisories, and available assistance for businesses and consumers.

The press conference also served as an opportunity to strengthen DTI Bulacan’s partnership with the local media in promoting informed consumers, resilient MSMEs, and inclusive economic development in the province. (UnliNews Online)
