CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — The Environmental Management Bureau Region III conducted recently a Communication, Education, and Public Awareness Activity for members of the Philippine Society of Private Midwives Clinic Owners (PSPMCO) – Bulacan Chapter at Club Royale here.
The activity aimed to enhance the knowledge and awareness of private midwives on environmental protection, proper waste management, and compliance with existing environmental laws, rules, and regulations.
The program commenced with messages from Ms. Annie S. Lunio, National President of the Integrated Midwives Association of the Philippines, Inc. and Ms. Gertrudes C. Luderico, National President of the PSPMCO.
On behalf of Regional Director Martin Jose V. Despi, Mr. Reymar A. Saracanlao, Chief of the Air and Water Permitting Section, delivered the opening message, encouraging participants to strengthen their commitment to environmental compliance and responsible healthcare waste management in support of public health and environmental protection.
Resource speakers from the Bureau discussed the requirements and application processes for securing a Certificate of Non-Coverage, Permit to Operate, Discharge Permit, Hazardous Waste Generator Registration Certificate, Pollution Control Officer Accreditation, and other environmental compliance requirements.
The lectures also covered compliance monitoring protocols, submission of monitoring reports, and procedures for addressing environmental violations, equipping participants with the knowledge necessary to comply with applicable environmental regulations.
The activity was conducted upon the request of Ms. Nely E. Cuenca, President of the PSPMCO Bulacan Chapter, demonstrating the Bureau’s continued commitment to strengthening partnerships with stakeholders in promoting environmental responsibility and regulatory compliance. (UnliNews Online)
