CITY OF MALOLOS — More than P86 million worth of government assistance and services were rolled out across Bulacan on Monday as the national government brought its “Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat” program closer to thousands of Bulakenyos, including residents in far-flung communities.
The province-wide initiative was highlighted by a major convergence of government services at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center, while simultaneous activities were conducted in remote areas to ensure that essential assistance reached communities beyond the provincial capital.
The activity formed part of the nationwide observance of the birthday of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., with the government emphasizing the delivery of services directly to communities, particularly those needing immediate assistance.
Government agencies and participating offices deployed personnel and resources to accommodate beneficiaries and provide assistance on-site, reducing the need for residents to travel to different government offices to avail themselves of basic services.
Among the major assistance extended was the DSWD Local Government Support Fund–Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (LGSF-FALGU) Rice Distribution Program, through which 1,052 sacks of 10-kilogram rice were distributed, while the Damayan sa Barangay initiative provided free medical checkups and consultations, dental services, laboratory tests, eye consultations, and medicines.
Support for farmers, fisherfolk, agrarian reform beneficiaries, students, and skilled workers was likewise delivered through the distribution of 23 Certificates of Land Ownership Awards (CLOAs) and 107 electronic titles by DAR; six multi-cultivators, 23 shallow tube wells, 100 bags of fertilizer, 50 gillnets, eight knapsack sprayers, 50 plastic crates, and 10-kilogram assorted vegetable seeds by DA; tool kits for Shielded Metal Arc Welding National Certificate Level II by TESDA; and P60,999,452.50 in Tertiary Education Subsidy assistance through CHED.
Complementing the services at the central venue, a veterinary medical mission was conducted at the Provincial Veterinary Office, where more than 400 pets were provided with free spaying and neutering, anti-rabies vaccination, and medical consultations, while the KADIWA ng Pangulo sa Singkaban was also mounted in front of The Pavilion, offering affordable agricultural products including P20 rice.
The provincial event was highlighted by the presence of Governor Daniel R. Fernando and Department of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Maria Theresa B. Dizon-De Vega, with the Provincial Government of Bulacan working closely with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of Education (DepEd), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Transportation (DOTr), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Justice (DOJ), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Philippine National Police (PNP), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
Emphasizing the true heartbeat and purpose of bringing government assistance directly to communities, Fernando shared how deeply meaningful these opportunities are, ensuring they are truly felt by every Bulakenyo and translated into a greater capacity to earn, start anew, and build a better future.
“Dito sa Provincial Government of Bulacan, tungkulin nating tiyakin na ang mga oportunidad na ito ay talagang makararating at mararamdaman ng ating mamamayan dahil ang serbisyo ay hindi natatapos sa pamamahagi, ang tunay na layunin nito ay mabigyan ang ating mga kababayan ng kakayahang kumita, makapagsimula at magkaroon ng mas magandang kinabukasan” Fernando said.
