P12 million Super Health Center to rise in San Rafael, Bulacan

SAN RAFAEL, Bulacan — Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go led the groundbreaking ceremony of the P9.9 million Super Health Center on Wednesday (June 21) inside the government center in Barangay Sampaloc in this town.

Sen. Go with Congresswoman Lorna Silverio, Mayor Cholo Violago, Vice Mayor Marilyn Veneracion, and other local public officials formally conducted the groundbreaking ceremony of one of the 15 Super Health Centers in Bulacan.

Go said in his short speech during the program, Super Health Center is a medium type of polyclinic but bigger than a rural health center.

He added “As (Senate) Health Committee Chairman, I want to increase the number of Malasakit Centers and have Super Health Centers in our country.

“The super health center will serve as an extension of the municipal health center offering services such as consultation, dental, laboratory, x-ray, EENT, vaccination, and even a birthing center,” he said.

Go said that super health centers will give easier access to medical services for residents in areas that may be far from rural health units (RHUs) or even district hospitals.

“Implemented by the Department of Health (DOH), the super health center has an initial funding of P10 million for the construction and P2 million for the purchase of equipment,” the senator added.

Other super health centers in Bulacan are being constructed in the towns of Guiguinto, Balagtas, Bulakan, Pandi, San Miguel, Angat, Marilao, Obando, Paombong, Plaridel, San Ildefonso, and the Cities of Baliwag and San Jose del Monte City.

The senator also led the distribution of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS).

The senator thru DSWD personnel distributed P3,000 each to 1,000 beneficiaries mostly poor women, solo parents, poor senior citizens without pensions, People with Disability (PWD), and LGBTQ.

The Bulakenyo beneficiaries in the town are part of the sector being assisted under DSWD AICS which is included in the agency’s protective services for individuals belonging to the poor, marginalized, vulnerable, and disadvantaged sectors. (UnliNews Online)
