MEYCAUAYAN CITY, Bulacan — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has constructed a new four (4)-storey multi-purpose building (MPB) that now serves as a community-based government center of the said city.
DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino reported to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan that the construction of the MPB located in Barangay Saluysoy in Meycauayan City was completed by DPWH Bulacan Second District Engineering Office (DEO).
The newly-constructed government center is equipped with one (1) elevator for the easier mobility of residents visiting local offices of national government agencies occupying the building.
Aside from housing local counterparts of national government agencies, the building also has a chapel that can be used as a venue for religious activities or for private devotion.
According to Director Tolentino, the completion of the government center has brought government closer to the people by ensuring ease and convenience in making government-related transactions and other social services not just for the residents of Barangay Saluysoy but also of those from neighboring barangays.
Funded through the 2021 General Appropriations Act (GAA), the construction of the government center cost P28.66 million and was implemented by phases. (UnliNews Online)
