CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) reports a significant 6.33% decline in focus crimes. From January 1 to February 22 this year.
In a statement, PRO-3 said 444 focus crimes were recorded during the period, down from 474 in the same period last year.
This decline spans murder, homicide, physical injuries, rape, robbery, theft, and carnapping—crimes that affect the very fabric of community security.
This decrease is attributed to PRO3’s intensified law enforcement efforts, including the strict implementation of the nationwide gun ban, regular checkpoint operations, search warrant enforcement, and heightened police visibility—all aimed at preventing criminal activities and ensuring public safety.
As part of election security measures, PRO3 has strengthened its crackdown on unauthorized firearm possession, leading to the confiscation of 187 assorted firearms and explosives and the arrest of 190 individuals for violating the gun ban. These efforts have significantly reduced the risk of gun-related crimes and election-related violence.
Additionally, intelligence-driven operations have led to successful search warrant implementations, resulting in the seizure of illegal firearms and the arrest of suspects involved in criminal activities.
PRO-3 director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo said the decline in crime is not just a victory—it’s a commitment to keep pushing forward. This steady drop in focus crimes is a direct result of our intensified security measures.
She added that the relentless enforcement of the gun ban, continuous checkpoint operations, and intelligence-driven arrests are taking criminals off the streets and making communities safer.
“We will not back down. PRO3 remains steadfast in ensuring peace and order, especially with the elections approaching,” Fajardo said.
