SM Bulacan malls, BFP hold 4th nationwide simultaneous fire drill

CITY OF MALOLOS — Aligned with Fire Prevention Month, the 4th Nationwide Simultaneous Fire Drill on High-Density Occupancies was conducted across SM Bulacan malls in partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP). This significant initiative was a key component of the month’s activities, designed to bolster community awareness and understanding of vital fire safety practices.

The initiative took place at SM City Marilao, SM City Baliwag, and SM Center Pulilan, featuring educational and interactive activities tailored for participants such as mall employees, agency personnel and tenants. The event included live fire extinguisher demonstrations, fire safety workshops led by BFP experts, and emergency evacuation drills, equipping attendees with essential skills and knowledge for fire emergency situations.

This successful event also highlighted the strong collaboration between SM Supermalls and BFP, showcasing a united effort towards safety and preparedness.

The public-private partnership (PPP) of SM and BFP gives priority to the constant training of SM’s personnel to respond to disasters, including earthquakes and destructive fires. This will help ensure the safety of SM’s stakeholders, including customers, tenants, employees, nearby communities and the general public. (UnliNews Online)
