PAMPANGA — Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., incumbent Mayor of Angeles City, has been proclaimed as Representative-Elect of the First District of Pampanga following a historic win where he garnered a total of 262,517 votes – the first Representative of the Pampanga First District to do so.
Lazatin, who declared his intent to run for Pampanga First District Representative on June 28, 2024, ran unopposed in the 2025 National and Local Elections.
In his home city of Angeles, Lazatin garnered a total of 122,431 votes, breaking his own record set in the Mayoralty elections of 2022 where he accumulated more than 112,000 votes — also the first for any Angeles City Mayor.
Meanwhile, Lazatin recorded 88,707 votes in Mabalacat City and 51,379 votes in the Municipality of Magalang.
Lazatin expressed his sincere gratitude for the overwhelming support.
“Ginulis tamu pu keng kasaysayan uli na pu ning kekayung alang patugut a suporta. Dacal a dacal pung salamat. Puryan taya pu ing Guinu,” Lazatin said.
Now that he has been proclaimed, Lazatin doubled-down on his promise to ensure that public services are delivered to all sectors from all walks of life.
“Sa ating panunungkulan, wala pong maiiwan. No one will be left behind,” said Lazatin, “Ito po ang aking binitawang pangako noong kampanya na tutuparin po natin pag upo natin. Lahat ng sektor ng ating lipunan ay mararamdaman ang ating sinserong paninilbihan. Alang malalakwan king Primeru Distritu ning Pampanga.”
Lazatin’s legislative agenda highlights seven main areas: Health; Economy and Livelihood; Vulnerable and Marginalized Sectors (Children, Youth, Women, Senior Citizens, Persons with Disability (PWDs), Solo Parents, and LGBTQ); Environment; Education; Transportation; and Barangays.
