CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga — Assorted dangerous drugs from Paris, France, declared as “animal food,” were intercepted during an interdiction operation recently.
Authorities recovered 1,003 tablets of ecstasy, 106 grams of cathinone (stimulant drugs), and 116 grams of ketamine (hallucinogenic drugs used as anesthesia) with an overall estimated value of Php 2,444,100.00.
According to PDEA Region III, PDEA International Cooperation and Foreign Affairs Service (ICFAS) received a tip from foreign counterparts regarding the shipment, which was then relayed to PDEA RO3.
PDEA also stated that, based on the information on the airway bill, the parcel containing the illegal substances was intended to be delivered in Metro Manila.
Seized illegal items were brought into the PDEA laboratory and tested positive during the confirmatory test.
The interdiction operation was through the collaborative effort among operatives from PDEA Clark International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (CRK-IADITG), Bureau of Customs ( BOC) Port of Clark, NBI Pampanga District Office, PNP Aviation Security Unit 3, and PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG).
