12,000 police personnel, multipliers to secure UNDAS in Central Luzon

CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — More than 3,000 police personnel will be deployed across cemeteries, memorial parks, churches, transportation hubs, and tourist destinations in Central Luzon to ensure a safe and orderly observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days under “Ligtas Undas 2025,” according to Police Regional Office 3 Regional Director P/Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr.

Beginning Wednesday (October 29), P/Brig. Gen. Peñones has directed his Command Group and Regional Staff, along with all provincial and city police directors, to personally inspect and supervise security and traffic management operations within their respective areas of responsibility.

Aside from the 3,000 PNP personnel, the operation will be reinforced by over 1,000 uniformed personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). Around 7,600 force multipliers — composed of barangay tanods, radio groups, civic organizations, and non-government volunteers — will also assist in maintaining peace, order, and crowd control throughout the observance.

Police will be deployed in 664 memorial parks, columbaria, and cemeteries; 139 motorists assistance centers; 611 police assistance desks; and major tourist destinations and transport terminals across the region.

P/Brig. Gen. Peñones Jr. emphasized that this extensive deployment supports the PNP Focused Agenda of Acting Chief, PNP P/Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) which highlights Ensuring Effective Management of Activities, events, festivities, and crowd control.

“We have mobilized enough personnel across cemeteries, memorial parks, terminals, and public areas to ensure a peaceful and orderly observance of Undas 2025. This proactive deployment is part of our commitment to protect and serve the public during one of the busiest times of the year,” PBGEN Peñones said.

He also expressed appreciation to partner agencies and volunteers for their cooperation and shared dedication to public service.

“We thank our partners from the AFP, BFP, PCG, and our community volunteers for their invaluable support. Their collaboration reflects the spirit of bayanihan and shared responsibility in keeping our communities safe,” he added.

The deployment of police personnel and augmentation forces will run from October 29 to November 5, 2025, ensuring that security, traffic management, and emergency response operations remain active throughout the Undas period. (UnliNews Online)
