PRO3 records major gains in crime prevention, anti-illegal drug ops for October 2025

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) reported substantial accomplishments for October 2025, highlighting intensified operations against illegal drugs, wanted persons, and loose firearms that significantly contributed to the continued peace and order across Central Luzon.

Under the leadership of P/B.Gen. Ponce Rogelio I. PeƱones Jr., Regional Director, and guided by the Focused Agenda of Acting Chief, PNP P/Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. on Enhanced Managing Police Operations and Strengthened Community Partnership, PRO3 sustained proactive policing efforts and close coordination with local government units, force multipliers, and the community.

Throughout the month, a total of 758 anti-illegal drug operations were conducted, leading to the arrest of 1,081 drug suspects and the confiscation of various illegal substances. Seized items included 3,803.85 grams of shabu, 6,512.50 grams of marijuana, 63.31 grams of kush, and 10 grams of ecstasy tablets, with an estimated total drug value of Php 26,759,634.06.

In the campaign against wanted persons, PRO3 operatives successfully apprehended 866 individuals, 223 of whom were identified as Most Wanted Persons at the regional, provincial, city, and municipal levels.

Meanwhile, the region recorded a notable decrease in index crimes, from 364 incidents in October 2024 down to 249 incidents this October 2025, marking a clear reduction across all focus crime categories such as murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery, theft, and carnapping.

The intensified campaign against loose firearms also yielded positive results, with a total of 290 firearms accounted for — composed of 283 assorted short firearms and 7 light weapons. Of these, 139 were confiscated, 108 were surrendered, and 36 were deposited for safekeeping.

P/B.Gen. PeƱones Jr. commended the unwavering dedication of all PRO3 personnel and acknowledged the strong cooperation of partner agencies and the public.
