PDEA arrests 2 Indian nationals, seizes P233.2M worth of cocaine in Calamba

PHILIPPINE Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives arrested 2 Indian nationals and seized approximately 44,000 grams of suspected cocaine with a standard drug price value of P233.2M during a buy-bust operation conducted in Villa de Calamba, Barangay La Mesa, Calamba City, Laguna, on Saturday early morning (Feb. 21)

The operation was led by PDEA Regional Office-NCR (PDEA RO-NCR) Southern District Office in coordination with PDEA Regional Office 4A (RO-4A) Laguna Provincial Office, PDEA RO-4A Regional Special Enforcement Team, and the Calamba City Police Station.

Arrested were alias “FiveSix,” 30 years old, Indian national and alias “Ali,” 32 years old, Indian national, both businessman.

Recovered during the operation were 2ckilograms of suspected cocaine contained in a brown paper bag, which served as the subject of sale, and 42 kilograms of suspected cocaine contained in an open carton box, which were the subject of possession.

Also confiscated were buy-bust money, one brown paper bag used as container of buy-bust money, one smartphone, and passports.

The suspects will face charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
