PRO3 rolls out around 2,000-strong police force for ‘LIGTAS SUMVAC 2026’

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — In line with the PNP Focused Agenda of Chief PNP, Police General Jose Melencio C Nartatez Jr, Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) is set to deploy around 2,000 police personnel across Central Luzon to ensure a safe, orderly, and secure summer vacation under the campaign “LIGTAS SUMVAC 2026.”

PBGEN Jess B Mendez, Regional Director of PRO3, assured the public that the entire police force in Central Luzon is on heightened alert and fully prepared to provide security coverage from March 29 to May 31, 2026, as thousands of travelers are expected to visit various tourist destinations across the region.

“In line with the directive of our Chief PNP, we are strengthening police visibility and ensuring proactive deployment of our personnel to safeguard the public during this summer season. Our priority is clear—to protect lives, secure communities, and ensure safe travel for all,” PBGEN Mendez said.

He emphasized that enhanced police presence will be implemented through intensified foot and mobile patrols, as well as the establishment of Police Assistance Desks and Centers (PADs/PACs) in strategic locations such as bus terminals, airports, seaports, major highways, tourist destinations, and other convergence areas.

In addition, Road Safety Marshals will be deployed to manage traffic flow and assist motorists, ensuring convenience and safety along major routes.

PBGEN Mendez also directed all commanders to strengthen coordination with Local Government Units (LGUs), non-government organizations (NGOs), government agencies, and volunteer groups to ensure a whole-of-community approach in delivering public safety services.

To further boost operational capability, PRO3 will mobilize its force multipliers and auxiliary partners, including Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs) and radio net groups, to support law enforcement efforts, particularly in crowded areas where criminal elements may take advantage of increased public activity.

“Security is a shared responsibility. We call on the public to remain vigilant and to immediately report any suspicious activities. Your cooperation is vital in keeping our communities safe,” he added.

The public is encouraged to report incidents or seek assistance through the PRO3 hotlines: 0998-5985330 / 0917-6235700.

Anchored on the principle of “Pulis Central Luzon: Nagbibigay ng Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman,” PRO3 remains steadfast in delivering responsive, reliable, and people-centered policing—ensuring that every Filipino enjoys a safe and secure summer. (UnliNews Online)
