A JOINT anti-drug operation conducted by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Regional Office National Capital Region (PDEA RO-NCR) and the PNP Drug Enforcement Group resulted in the arrest of a drug suspect and the confiscation of approximately 500 grams of suspected shabu on Monday (April 6) in Taguig City.
The buy-bust operation was spearheaded by PDEA RO-NCR, in coordination with the PDEA RO-NCR Southern District Office and the PNP Drug Enforcement Group – Intelligence and Foreign Liaison Division (IFLD). The operation was carried out at around 5:00 p.m. along Mindanao Avenue, Barangay Maharlika, Taguig City.
Arrested during the operation was identified as alias “Rasol,” 40, married, a tricycle driver, and a resident of Barangay Maharlika, Taguig City.
Confiscated from the suspect were 4 knot-tied transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, with an estimated total weight of more or less 500 grams. The seized illegal drugs have an estimated standard drug price of P3,400,000.00.
Also recovered during the operation were a white paper bag containing boodle money, a wallet with identification card and cash, and one (1) mobile phone.
The suspect will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
