QUEZON CITY — Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Regional Office National Capital Region (PDEA RO-NCR), in coordination with the PNP Drug Enforcement Group – Special Operations Unit NCR, successfully conducted a joint buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of 3 drug suspects and the confiscation of approximately 7,000 grams of suspected shabu on Monday (April 6) around 2:50 p.m. along Payatas Road, Barangay Payatas.
Arrested during the operation were identified as alias “Ariel,” 31, a driver and resident of Datu Piang, Maguindanao; alias “Eduard,” 38, unemployed and a resident of Calabanga, Camarines Sur; and alias “Ibrahim,” 45, a driver and resident of Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao.
Seized from the suspects were a total of seven yellow foil packs labeled “DAGUANYIN” containing white crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, with an estimated total weight of more or less 7,000 grams. The confiscated illegal drugs have an estimated standard drug price of P47,600,000.00.
Also recovered during the operation were 1 genuine P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money, three identification cards, 2 mobile phones, and one vehicle.
The suspects will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
