CITY OF MALOLOS — Bulacan Provincial Agriculture Office Head Ma. Gloria SF. Carrillo gave honor to the province as she was recognized with the Outstanding Agricultural Extension Manager-Provincial Level award during the 51st Gawad Saka Regional Awarding Ceremony held at the Tarlac City Gymnatorium, Tarlac City, Tarlac recently.
The provincial agriculturist was recognized for demonstrating exemplary leadership in advancing sustainable and inclusive agricultural and fisheries programs, significantly contributing to Bulacan’s recognition as one of the Central Luzon’s top-performing provinces while improving food security, productivity, and the welfare of farming and fishing communities.
Aside from Carrillo, three other Bulakenyo pride were awarded on the same event including Luis D. Bausa of the Bausa Integrated Farm and Training Center in San Ildefonso as the Outstanding National Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture Program (Macro Garden); Engr. Marcelino P. Trillana of the Khay-Kim General Merchandise in Paombong as the Outstanding Agricultural Entrepreneur; and Danilo Dionisio of Mang Danny’s Organic and Natural Farm in Paombong as the Outstanding Fisherfolk – Aquaculture.
Governor Daniel R. Fernando congratulated the awardees and reiterated the commitment of the Provincial Government of Bulacan to implement programs that will strengthen the agricultural sector and further enhance the productivity and income of the agricultural stakeholders.
“Lubos kong ipinagmamalaki ang ating mga kapwa Bulakenyo na muling nagbigay ng karangalan sa Lalawigan ng Bulacan sa pamamagitan ng kanilang natatanging kontribusyon sa sektor ng agrikultura. Ang pagkilalang ito ay patunay na ang sipag, dedikasyon, at malasakit ng ating mga magsasaka, mangingisda, at agricultural extension workers ay nagbubunga ng mga programang tunay na nakakatulong sa pagpapaunlad ng kabuhayan at seguridad sa pagkain ng ating mga mamamayan,” the governor said.
The Gawad Saka, is a prestigious award program of the Department of Agriculture that aims to recognize the invaluable contributions of Filipino farmers, fisherfolk, scientists, researchers, and institutions to agricultural development. (UnliNews Online)
