DICT Region III holds ‘Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas’ in Malolos for NICT Month 2026

Anchored on the theme “Isang Dekadang Digital: Konektado sa Puso at Serbisyo,” the activity underscores the progress and impact of ten years of digital transformation initiatives in Central Luzon.

The program led by Atty. James S. Villanueva, assistant Regional Director, Engr. Mario Antonio V. The dialogue served as a platform for open engagement between DICT Region III and members of the media especially in Bulacan, reinforcing transparency and strengthening public communication on the government’s digitalization agenda.

Regional officials also presented updates on key programs and priorities, including the expansion of internet connectivity infrastructure, enhancement of e-government services, cybersecurity awareness campaigns, and digital literacy initiatives across various sectors.

One of the flagship program of the agency discussed was the continued rollout of Free Wi-Fi sites in public spaces such as schools, hospitals, transport terminals, tourism destinations, and government offices.

Villanueva highlight the ongoing efforts to promote the adoption of the eGov PH Super App as part of broader initiatives to streamline access to government services.

“Capacity-building programs for youth, local government units, government employees, and community stakeholders will likewise be featured, underscoring efforts to strengthen digital literacy and promote responsible and secure use of technology,” he added.

The program also included a presentation of regional accomplishments followed by an open forum with media partners, focusing on how digital transformation continues to shape inclusive growth and improve public service delivery across Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales.

Through this initiative, DICT Region III reaffirms its commitment to ensuring that digital transformation remains people-centered, inclusive, and responsive to the evolving needs of every Filipino community in Central Luzon. (UnliNews Online)
