PANDI, Bulacan — Eleven former members of the Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap (KADAMAY) formally renounced their affiliation with the group and surrendered to the police in Barangay Mapulang Lupa, Pandi, Bulacan, on Monday afternoon (October 19).
The joint initiative, led by the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (2nd PMFC) under the leadership of Force Commander PLTCOL Karl Marlo S. Sanchez, marks another significant step forward in peacebuilding, community reintegration, and anti-insurgency efforts in the province.
The surrenderers had been affiliated with KADAMAY since 2016 before stepping away from the organization in 2019. They voluntarily presented themselves to law enforcement officers.
“This success reflects the strong collaboration within Joint Regional Task Force 3 (JRTF 3) and Police Regional Office 3’s (PRO 3) steadfast commitment to bringing former rebels back into the fold of the law,” said Police Brigadier General Jess B. Mendez, Regional Director of PRO 3 and Chairperson of the RTF-ELCAC 3 Technical Working Group.
“Through active local engagement and strategic peace initiatives, our campaign for lasting peace in Central Luzon continues to gain momentum. PRO 3 and JRTF 3 remain firm in their commitment to protecting local communities and sustaining regional peace and security efforts,” Gen. Mendez added. (UnliNews Online)
