CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — In a swift and coordinated operation early Thursday morning (May 2), the Cabanatuan City Police Station, supported by Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs), successfully intercepted a gang of thieves in the act of stealing 700 meters of copper cable worth P600,000.00.
The attempted heist targeted critical infrastructure owned by the Philippine Long Distance Company in Brgy. Quezon District, Cabanatuan City.
The incident, which occurred at approximately 3:30 AM, was promptly reported by vigilant witnesses, leading to the rapid response of Cabanatuan City personnel and apprehension of 10 individuals, identified as “Mond”, “Gelo”,“Ger”,“Son”,“Juls”, “Nante”, “Jax”, “Rap”, “Lon”, and “EJ” while “Elmer” managed to elude arrest.
The suspects who are residents of Quezon City and Caloocan City and are mostly drivers and helpers were caught in the act of cutting through copper cable underneath a manhole in Brgy. Quezon District.
