NEPPO arrests 9 in illegal fireams, shabu in Nueva Ecija

CAMP GEN. MARIANO N. LLANERA, Cabanatuan City — The Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO) successfully arrested 9 individuals in a series of police operations conducted across the province, resulting in the confiscation of illegal firearms and suspected shabu on Sunday (April 25).

In the implementation of 2 search warrants, a 42-year-old male driver was arrested in the municipality of Jaen, from whom were seized one Cal .38 Revolver with 4 ammo and 5.50 grams of shabu with DDB value of Php37,400.00; in a separate operation in San Isidro, a 37-year-old male sidecar maker was apprehended, yielding one Cal .45 Pistol with a magazine and fourammo and 0.15 grams of shabu with DDB value of P1,020.00.

Meanwhile, 4 individuals involved in illegal drug activities were arrested in separate buy-bust operations conducted in San Antonio (2), Palayan City (1), and Talavera (1). Authorities confiscated a total of 5.7 grams of shabu with DDB value of P38,740.00.

Additionally, two individuals were arrested by personnel of the Palayan City Police Station through a manhunt operation for violation of Section 10 of R.A. 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act). Each accused has a recommended bail of P80,000.00.

In a separate incident, a 41-year-old unemployed male was arrested for allegedly taking a motorcycle parked in front of a residence in Cabiao, Nueva Ecija. The suspect was immediately pursued and apprehended with the assistance of local residents, and the stolen motorcycle was recovered in his possession along with several motorcycle keys. The suspect will be charged under R.A. 10883 (New Anti-Carnapping Act). (UnliNews Online)
