DASMARINAS CITY, Cavite — Authorities seized approximately 500 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu valued at P3,400,000.00 during a buy-bust operation that turned into an armed encounter at around 4:43 p.m. on Saturday (April 25), in Barangay San Dionesio, this city.
The operation resulted in the arrest of the main target, identified as alias “ALI,” while two of his cohorts managed to evade arrest.
Ali yielded five knot-tied transparent plastic sachets containing the illegal drugs, as well as the marked money used in the entrapment.
According to PDEA team leader, the armed encounter ensued when the suspects fired shots at the operating team upon sensing they were being entrapped.
“The exchange of gunfire resulted in the injury of Ali. He was immediately transported to a hospital for medical attention,” the team leader added.
The operation was jointly conducted by personnel from the PDEA Bulacan Provincial Office, PDEA CALABARZON, and the local police.
Ali will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (UnliNews Online)
