CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — After more than a year of intelligence monitoring and coordination among police units, authorities successfully arrested a 44-year-old man tagged as the Rank 1 Municipal Most Wanted Person of Sta. Cruz, Zambales during a law enforcement operation in Brgy. San Vicente, Baguio City on Friday (May 15).
The operation was carried out by personnel of Sta. Cruz Municipal Police Station (MPS), Provincial Intelligence Unit of Zambales Police Provincial Office (PIU ZPPO), in coordination with Police Station 8 of Baguio City Police Office (CPO) and Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR).
The accused was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by Hon. Marifi P. Chua, Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 70, Iba, Zambales, for the crime of Parricide under Article 246 of the Revised Penal Code. The case, docketed under Criminal Case No. RTC-18109-2026-I, carries no recommended bail.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect is the primary accused in the killing of his wife, a medical doctor, their three-month-old daughter, and their house helper in Sta. Cruz, Zambales in December 2024 — a tragic incident that deeply affected the local community.
Authorities said the suspect had reportedly gone into hiding following the incident before his whereabouts were eventually traced through intelligence and monitoring efforts, leading to his arrest at around 2:15 PM in Baguio City. He is now under the custody of Sta. Cruz MPS for proper documentation and legal procedures.
P/Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 3, commended the operating units for the successful arrest and underscored the importance of continued coordination among police units in the pursuit of wanted persons.
“This operation reflects our commitment to ensuring that persons facing serious criminal charges are properly brought before the law. No matter how long it takes, our police units will continue to work together to locate and arrest individuals who attempt to evade justice,” P/BGen. Mendez said. (UnliNews Online)
