CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) recorded a notable decline in focus crime incidents across Central Luzon, posting a 39.06% decrease from May 11 to 17, 2026, despite the rotational brownouts experienced across the region.
PRO3 data showed that focus crime incidents dropped from 64 cases recorded from May 4 to 10, 2026, to 39 incidents during the following week — a reduction of 25 cases.
According to PRO3, the decrease was largely attributed to the intensified police presence and sustained anti-criminality operations carried out throughout the region, particularly during nighttime and early morning hours when power interruptions were most felt.
To help maintain public safety and deter criminal activity, police units increased the deployment of bike patrols, mobile patrols, foot patrols, and strategic checkpoints in key areas, including crime-prone communities, business districts, major roads, and residential areas affected by low visibility during the brownouts.
PBGEN Jess B Mendez, Regional Director of PRO3, said that strong police visibility and immediate operational adjustments played a vital role in keeping communities secure amid the temporary power disruptions.
“We anticipated the possible security concerns brought about by the rotational brownouts, which is why our police units immediately intensified visibility patrols and checkpoint operations, particularly during the wee hours of the night. The reduction in focus crime incidents shows that strong police presence, quick response, and community cooperation continue to make a significant impact in keeping our communities safe,” PBGEN Mendez said.
He added that the accomplishment reflects the continuing implementation of the PNP Focused Agenda on enhanced police operations and crime prevention efforts, alongside the Safer Cities Program, which emphasizes increased police visibility and proactive public safety measures in urban and residential communities.
PRO3 assured the public that intensified patrol operations, intelligence monitoring, and other preventive policing efforts will remain in place to help ensure the continued safety and security of communities across Central Luzon. (UnliNews Online)
