DENR, ASEZ partner to boost youth-led environmental action in Central Luzon

THE Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Central Luzon has partnered with ASEZ, a global university student volunteer group, to strengthen youth participation in ecosystem restoration and environmental protection.

The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding, which outlines a framework for joint restoration activities, data sharing, and regular volunteer initiatives involving university students, local residents, and partner communities.

DENR Regional Executive Director Ralph Pablo said the agreement highlights the important role of the youth sector in advancing environmental stewardship.

“By partnering with ASEZ, we are giving young people more opportunities to take part in meaningful environmental action. Their energy, leadership, and commitment can help strengthen our collective efforts to protect and restore our natural resources,” Pablo said.

Under the agreement, DENR and ASEZ will identify priority restoration areas, support student-led environmental activities, and work with local stakeholders in implementing ASEZ’s Earth Recovery Project.

The partnership also seeks to expand youth-led environmental networks and encourage university students to become active partners in building cleaner, greener, and more resilient communities. (UnliNews Online)
